Tom Mein. For over 10 years, he would hitch-hike from home to the train station to get to work as a banker in San Francisco…in a 3 piece suit. It was nearly 10 miles but he always got a ride.
Gary Chan-non swimmer to swimming hero

In 1990, Gary couldn’t swim 100 yards in the open water.
In 1997, he completed an open water swim, over SEVEN MILES, from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Bay Bridge.
